Consultation on the draft Disability Action Plan 2023-2027 

Newry, Mourne and Down District Council gives notice that its draft Disability Action Plan 2023-2027 is open for consultation, available for inspection and public comment.

The consultation period for the draft Disability Action Plan 2023-2027 will close on 12 June 2023.

Section 49A of the Disability Discrimination Act 1995 (as amended by Article 5 of the Disability Discrimination (NI) Order 2006) places duties on public authorities, when carrying out their functions, to have due regard to the need to:

• Promote positive attitudes towards disabled people; and
• Encourage participation by disabled people in public life.

These are collectively referred to as ‘the disability duties’.

Council welcomes your views and comments and would be grateful for your response to the following questions.
